I finally finished Stranger Things Season 4. Thanks to steady binge-watching, I was able to complete my rewatch well before the final season’s release. Previously, I couldn’t get through the entire season because of the long runtime and slower pacing in some episodes. This time, however, I stayed fully immersed and watched it all the way through. The ending left me thrilled, and the tension carried over into an even greater anticipation for the next season.

🎬 Storyline
After the events of Season 3, the kids are scattered across different places. Eleven, Will, and the Byers family move to California for a fresh start, but Eleven, having lost her powers, struggles with bullying at school. Meanwhile in Hawkins, Dustin, Lucas, and Max witness horrifying murders and soon realize that something supernatural is behind them.
The new villain, Vecna, preys on people’s deepest traumas and guilt, trapping victims in his dark dimension before claiming their lives. Max, tormented by the death of her stepbrother Billy, becomes one of his main targets, while Eleven confronts her past in order to regain her powers.
At the same time, Hopper—still alive—is imprisoned in Russia, battling nightmarish experiments. Across California, Russia, and the very memories of Max, the friends reunite once more to stop Vecna, as the storylines converge toward a climactic showdown.
💡 Highlights
- Vecna’s Arrival: Not just a monster, but a villain with a human backstory and twisted motives, adding depth and terror.
- Max’s Climax: The “Running Up That Hill” sequence became one of the most iconic TV moments of the year, blending character and music flawlessly.
- Eddie Munson’s Legacy: His “Master of Puppets” performance while fighting the horde was legendary, leaving a lasting emotional impact.
- Eleven’s Growth: More than just regaining her powers, she confronts her past and her responsibility, showing true character development.
- Hopper’s Survival: His Russian prison storyline felt like a film on its own, packed with scale and intensity.

🍿 Impressions
Season 4 may feel stretched with its long episodes, but that pacing allowed deeper character arcs and more emotional weight. Max and Eddie’s storylines became the emotional core, moving the audience beyond simple horror thrills—I never thought a show like this would actually bring me to tears.
The horror elements reached their peak in this season. Vecna’s attacks combined psychological dread with brutal physical horror, capturing the essence of a true “horror drama.” The soundtrack was another highlight, mixing ‘80s nostalgia with modern tension to amplify the story’s power.
Above all, Season 4 isn’t just about good vs. evil. It poses a central theme: the courage to confront trauma. Each character’s fear and scars drive the narrative, and their struggle to overcome them delivers the season’s emotional impact. The finale doesn’t resolve everything—it serves as a powerful prelude to Season 5, leaving fans eager for what’s next.
